Hi there, I’m Tif. I am a Chicago-based designer and artist, wife to director Dexter Bullard, and homeschooling (by choice!) mama of 3 young children: my daughter, Gossamer True (8), my son, Zephyr One (4), and my daughter, Cosmos Dharma (1). I am a Broadway costume designer who has designed internationally; in NYC on and off-Broadway; regionally in Chicago on major stages, off-Loop theaters, and experimental theater groups; created looks for Betsey Johnson local fashion shows; acted as stylist for numerous acts; and also performed as an actor, performer, dancer, and curator on stage, independent and feature film, national and regional commercials, and performance venues in New York and Chicago.
I have an MFA in Performance from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA from DePaul University's School for New Learning with a concentration in Solo Performance.
My style icons are Vivienne Westwood (buy less and focus on purchasing long-lasting, well-constructed pieces to create a capsule wardrobe), Iris Apfel (99-year old style-clutter queen with a young, playful heart), and Rachel Antonoff (a cheeky, outspoken suburban 80s child-turned feminist New Yorker).
Since March 2020, I have constructed over 4,000 cloth face masks and donated almost 1,700 of my masks to nurses, doctors, and first responders, immune-compromised individuals, Covid-19 stricken families, Black Lives Matter, Elgin Community Crisis Center, Democrat IL House Representative Suzanne Ness’s District 66’s volunteers, religious leaders, community organizers, artists, unemployed individuals, voters, family, and truly anyone in need. Let's keep going!
